SLU Alum Davis Earns Start in World Cup

Saint Louis men's soccer alumnus Brad Davis has earned a start in the 2014 World Cup against Germany. It is his first cap in the World Cup. lt;br /> lt;br />Davis played for the Billikens from 2000-01. In his first year for SLU, Davis won the Conference USA Freshman of the Year Award. He later went on to be named a second team All-American. In 2002, he was the third overall pick in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

Basketball Standouts Earn Strength and Conditioning Accolades

Saint Louis University basketball players Dwayne Evans and Jamesia are among the collegiate and high school athletes named 2013-14 All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). lt;br />The NSCA is an international nonprofit educational association founded in 1978. The association serves nearly 30,000 members in 52 countries. The NSCA develops and presents the most advanced information regarding strength training and conditioning practices, injury prevention and research findings. lt;br />Evans earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 accolades for a second consecutive year. He became the first Billiken since Erwin Claggett to be named to the All-Conference first team in consecutive seasons. Evans was the Billikens' top offensive option, leading the team with 14.0 points per game. He is on the SLU all-time top-10 lists in scoring (ninth, 1,499 points) and rebounding (fourth, 942 rebounds). lt;br />"Over his four-year career, Dwayne has had the drive of a professional," Saint Louis Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance Erick Schork, CSCS, SCCC, USAW said. "He has gained more than 25 pounds of muscle mass while increasing his vertical jump three inches. Dwayne has continued his defensive dominance while developing an offensive prowess and becoming our team's leading scorer. Dwayne has helped the Billikens reach three consecutive NCAA tournaments." lt;br />Price rebounded from an ACL injury that sidelined her for the 2012-13 season by averaging 7.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 2013-14. She finished among the A-10 leaders in assists and assist-to-turnover ratio.
