Saint Louis women's tennis improved to 11-7 with a 4-0 victory over Western Illinois Wednesday afternoon.

GALESBURG, Ill. – Saint Louis won the doubles point and three singles matches to claim a 4-3 victory over Western Illinois Wednesday at Lakeside Tennis Center. lt;br /> lt;br />The Billikens, who improved to 6-11, conclude the regular season Saturday, April 13, at home against Atlantic 10 Conference opponent Butler. First serve at Dwight Davis Tennis Center is slated for 10 a.m.

Saint Louis University women's soccer is offering four camps for girls in June at Robert R. Hermann Stadium on the SLU campus.

The Wednesday, April 10, softball game between Saint Louis and SIUE scheduled for Cougar Field in Edwardsville, Ill., has been cancelled due to anticipated inclement weather.

ST. LOUIS – The Saint Louis baseball team defeated the SIUE Cougars 7-5 Tuesday night at the Billiken Sports Center. Freshman RHP Joe Powell (3-0) gets the win, his second against SIUE this season. With the win, the Bills rise to 23-10 in their 2013 campaign. The contest was the 208th game played by senior 2B Mike Levine at Saint Louis, a school record for games played.

Saint Louis and Southern Illinois split the singles matches, but SIU won the doubles point and edged the Billikens 4-3 Tuesday afternoon at University Courts.

Saint Louis softball (14-16, 2-4 A-10) plays a non-conference game and four Atlantic 10 contests this week.

The eighth annual "Get in the Game" Luncheon will be held Thursday, April 18, at Lorenzini's inside Chaifetz Arena. The event will once again be presented by The Boeing Company.

The two teams have played 65 contests, with the Cougars owning the all-time series record 40-25. lt;br />The Cougars are led offensively by Joel Greatting. He leads SIUE in average (.345), slugging (.448) and on-base (.491). On the mound, RHP Sam Hopkins will start against the Bills. He has a 1-2 record with a 6.75 ERA. Hopkins was the starter in the previous game against SLU

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Saint Louis freshman 3B Braxton Martinez has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today. It is the first such honor of his career. lt;br />Martinez continued to excel in his freshman campaign last week against SIUE and Butler. He hit .500 with a .550 on-base percentage and a .812 slugging percentage en route to a three-game sweep of Butler. Martinez leads all A-10 freshmen in those categories. This season, he has a .349 batting average (13th in A-10), .a 516 slugging percentage (fifth in A-10) and a .422 on-base percentage (12th in A-10). lt;br />Martinez and the rest of the Billikens host the SIUE Cougars Tuesday, April 9, at the Billikens Sports Center. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
