NextYearBill Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 http://collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/09/the-official-unofficial-rules-of-storming-the-court/ VI. You can storm the court if you are a non-BCS school that is not nationally ranked, and defeat a BCS school that is nationally ranked in the top 15 or a non-BCS school ranked in the top 10. X. You can storm the court if you are drunk, and/or if the co-ed standing next to you in the student section convinces you to storm the court under the assumption that you and said co-ed will sleep in the same bed together following the game. It would only make sense. Get ready... Quote
Tonka Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 The only way the court should be rushed is if you are playing the #1 ranked team in the country and you are not ranked. Or, if you play a Top 10 team and you are ranked 150+. I think we need to act as if. If we consider ourselves "players" then rushing the court against a conference rival is weak. It's like saying we know you are way better than us Butler and we have no hope of beating you, but we luckily pulled it out. Quote
JMM28 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 SLU will be the favorite in this game. Rushing the court = small time. Quote
NextYearBill Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 Butler stormed the court after beating Gonzaga.... and theyve been in back to back national title games. Quote
JMM28 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 If Butler jumped off a bridge, would you? Quote
NextYearBill Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 If it meant national runner up 2 years in a row, yes Quote
slufan13 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 SLU will be the favorite in this game. Rushing the court = small time. We're not going to storm the court and I don't want to, but let's be honest here. We're not big time Quote
bonwich Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Horsecrap. We have no tradition. If several dozen or several hundred students get all wired up from one or more of our games and choose to storm the court any given night, more power to them. Setting "rules" for getting excited is pretty damned stupid given the current state of the fan base. Quote
NextYearBill Posted January 23, 2013 Author Posted January 23, 2013 I really dont have a pulse on that student section, but I'd bet money they are bandwagon enough to storm next Thursday. Quote
Duff Man Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Butler stormed the court after beating Gonzaga.... and theyve been in back to back national title games. If SLU beats Butler is as dramatic of fashion as Butler beat Gonzaga, then you should storm the court. If SLU wins by 4+ after Butler has extended the game by fouling, then definitely not. Quote
BACKHANDtheRICAN Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 SLU will be the favorite in this game. Rushing the court = small time. You're probably one of those fans that don't even get out of it to cheer anyway. SLUfan13 is on Backhand's sh*t list after today. Quote
